Preston County Commissioners - ..."The Preston County Commission continues its efforts to create an environment where people feel safe to live and work and enhance the beauty of the countryside. On Tuesday March 24, 2009, Preston County Commissioners Craig Jennings, Vicki Cole and Dave Price tentatively approved a $6,024,571 budget that includes funding for an additional bailiff for the courthouse; funding for a part-time litter control officer; money for an additional secretarial position for the Sheriff, and funding to allow the part-time position at the county’s Animal Shelter to go full-time. Also to continue the commitment to public safety the Commission set aside $2,000 to help support the organized Neighborhood Watch programs in the county. "
